2014 Louisville Slugger Z3000 Preview
One of the most anticipated bats for the 2014 slowpitch softball season is the Z3000 from Louisville Slugger. The bat is currently set to be released in mid-February, but is available for pre-order across the Internet. It will come in four sizes, each of which coming with a 34” length, but come in weights of 26, 27, 28 and 30 oz. With the release date just a few weeks away, let’s take a look on what this bat is made of and what you can expect from it?
The first and most obvious change to this new bat is its camo paint scheme. It has a white background with black and silver mixed spread across. It isn’t a bat that will stand out when leaning along the fence, but it will gain new fans when being used. Louisville Slugger used their latest T2 Technology to piece together the composite handle and composite barrel. The main point of using this technology was to make the bond of the two better and stronger. The Z3000 benefits greatly from using this technology because it creates a trampoline effect that will propel the ball off the bat. This new technology is also meant to help reduce the vibration of the bat.
The barrel of the Z3000 is thinner than previous models, but the walls are still stronger than ever before. Since the walls are thinner, it allowed the company to add more layers of graphite fibers. This bat also gives its users a balanced swing, which for many players, is easier to swing than end loaded models. For slap hitters and those who are known mostly for their contact swings, this bat will be more beneficial for your style than an end-loaded bat.

A couple weeks back, I had a couple of days to myself. With snow falling and work cancelled for the day, I suddenly had an extended weekend and I decided to write a book. I won’t bore you with all the details, but I will direct those who are interested in my mindset to go to Safaris and Sunsets where I was interviewed on the process.
Anyways, as a fan of Atlanta Braves, baseball in general, and the history of the sport, I decided that the book I was going to write was going to be about my favorite team. I researched the greatest players to ever wear their jersey and I thought to myself, who deserves to be known as one of the best 25 players in the history of such a storied franchise? After completing my list, I began writing the book and two days later, it was completely written and by the end of the weekend, it was professionally edited and I submitted it to Amazon Kindle and prepared the paperback version on Create Space.
Now, several weeks later, the book [Top 25 Atlanta Braves Players of All Time] is published and ready for purchase in electronic format and paperback. This year has already been so great for me professionally and this book release is the first of many planned. In the coming weeks, there will be two more “Top 25” books, first for the Boston Red Sox and then the New York Yankees. In the meantime, I want to give my readers easy access to purchasing the Atlanta book in whichever format works for you and your family. When you’re done reading the Atlanta book, or any of the others that will be released soon, please do come back here and let me know what you thought. Who shouldn’t have made the cut and who should have. To order the paperback copy, click the banner below and for ebook, simply click here.
2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat Review
When you look at the 2014 line of baseball and softball bats, the one company that is getting in the discussion more than any is DeMarini. From their slowpitch and fastpitch bats to BBCOR and adult baseball bats, the company has made it easy to succeed regardless of what sport you play. One bat in particular that is becoming a must-have for any baseball player is the Vexxum NVS BBCOR.
This bat is ideal for high school and college leagues as it has a length to weight ratio of -3 ounces. It is made with an X10 aluminum barrel and C6 composite handle, something that DeMarini is known for. The NVS in the name of the bat is DeMarini’s “New Velocity System,” which gives the user power and speed in one bat. The barrel is extremely light and using NVS has given the barrel a sweet spot that takes up most of the entire barrel.
The X10 aluminum material is exclusive to DeMarini, but they haven’t stopped at just having the exclusive material. They shape part of the inner wall of the bat so they can eliminate unnecessary material. The C6 composite handle is one that DeMarini uses solely in their single wall bats. Using this handle helps to give the ball a trampoline type effect on the ball and will also eliminate any vibration.
Weight is an important part of the bat, so anytime you can get extra weight taken from the bat without losing in performance, it is a positive. In the case of the end cap, that is what you get with the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR baseball bat. This bat has a N2M end cap, which is one of the lightest in the business.
There are many reasons why this bat is one of the best for baseball players. It can be purchased for a reasonable price ($199.95) and once you take a couple of cuts, will be happy with the performance. When other BBCOR baseball bats go for double the price and provide the same results, this bat turns out to be the best deal in the business.
